Dad gave me these roses of the most beautiful, unusual orange shade for Valentine's Day.

OU Women's Basketball

The OU women played Missouri today, & we were there. The Sooners won by about 20 points, of course.

Day 5, Blizzard 2011

After we got back from Walmart, the post office, & lunch at Ron's, Scout finally ventured out the front door. With over 14" of snow he was bogged down up to his eyeballs. But the neighbor dogs were waiting for him. He ran them up & down the fence about a dozen times. I rescued him from the 'quicksnow' & brought him inside to rest.

Day 4, Blizzard 2011

It's snowing, AGAIN! Could get 6 more inches before it stops at 9 or 10 tonight. Add that to the 14 we already have! Then rain &/or snow predicted for Sunday & another storm on Wednesday. Scout won't even go outside. A golden retriever I know might like this white stuff!

Day 3, Blizzard 2011

Cabin fever has set in. I ventured outside today. Very slick out there. Nearly fell. This the third day the mail hasn't come. No newspaper yesterday. I have been sewing all day on a new little project. Can only watch so much TV & surf the internet. This first picture is of the drift outside B's old room. The second one is of the birds Dad has been feeding. Although he ran out of seed, & we gave them bread crumbs. They're kind of picky; they don't like crumbs as well as the seeds. The third picture is of one of the 'giants' who comes to the buffet. Fourth, is the drift outside S's old room/sewing room/man cave. And fifth, the view out the front door is pretty much the same as yesterday. The sixth picture shows a drift out by the old yard light. And, last, Dad is digging & shoveling, shoveling & digging. He helped get the neighbor get his SUV into his driveway yesterday. And the next door neighbor came yesterday & bladed down our driveway. The low this morning where PaPaw lives was minus 18 degrees! The snow's going nowhere. We have another chance of snow tomorrow. And another storm coming next week. Official word is that my school 'will try to have school Monday.' I love snow days as much as the next teacher, but we'll be in school this year til the fourth of July!

Blizzard 2011

At 8 a.m. we're up to 10 1/2 inches of snow & counting. Predictions say we could get 20". The storm started last night around 10:30 with thunder, lightning, & sleet. Schools will probably be out the rest of the week.
I stopped to get milk, eggs, bread, water, & cat litter last night on the way home. So we have plenty to eat & drink. Now if the electricity will hold!
