Don't Worry, Just a Routine Visit

Scout just wanted to let all his friends to know that he's fine after going in for a routine blood test. His vet actually called him 'high maintenance' today! We cannot believe she said that!

In With the New!!!!

I'm beyond excited with my new furniture!! It is BEAUTIFUL. With the new flooring, new paint, & new furniture, we felt like we were sleeping in an elegant hotel last night! Today Dad took me to the furniture store where I got the furniture, & bought me the jewelry armoire. That was totally unexpected. I'm just busy as a bee with my piddling & puttering!

We have a sheet at the window right now, but I have a shade & new curtains ready to be put up.

The headboard & bed frame were hand-me-down from Daddy & Mama.


I received this desk as a gift when I was about 10 years old. Very sad to give it up.

Got this pine dresser from Walmart in 1984, assembled, stained, & finished it. I was very pleased with my work if I do say so myself. It served us well. Also sad to see it go.


We hauled all three items to Goodwill today. After 31 years of marriage we finally will have a NEW, MATCHING bedroom suite!!!!

Yeeks! A Scorpion in the Kitchen!

Just before heading off to work Wednesday, I looked down & saw this scorpion crawling across the kitchen floor. He was so fast that I almost didn't have enough time to get my camera. Since I have no tolerance for critters in the house, I squashed him.

Getting the Room Ready

New furniture calls for painting & new flooring. Last night we bought all the flooring supplies at our favorite home improvement store. Stacked in the corner & wrapped in packing paper are the two pieces of glass I had cut for the dresser & nightstand. Dad & I have gotten just about everything we need to get the project. We are sleeping in S's old room & have stuff piled up in B's old room. The old furniture will go to a church furniture ministry. More progress pics to come.
