A Book and a Quilt

Bought this book set recently at the book fair. It came with a swatch of fabric. Think I'll make a small quilt to go with it. Maybe someday I'll have a grandchild to read it to.!?

Red All Over

This is the first full-size quilt I've made for myself. I call it, "Red All Over." It's sort of multi-themed: hearts, OU, a VBS t-shirt, a couple of Mama's blouses, & anything else I had that was red or pink. I backed it with a couple of red bed sheets. It's so large it could keep a whole row of people warm at a football game!

The First Day of Spring! Whatever.....

Yes, those are our jonquils being covered with snow. Yesterday it was 70 degrees; today we're getting snow -- possibly up to 8 inches. Go figure.

The Bird Mansion

This is the bird house Daddy made for us three or four years ago. A friend gave us the pipe, and Dad put it up this week. Very large + very heavy = not an easy job to do!

Ready for Easter

Dad always likes for me to have a new Easter outfit.
So, after trying on about 30 outfits at Penney's, I decided to go to Dillard's (where he wanted me to go in the first place!). I walked in, saw this, and knew that was exactly what I'd been looking for! Of course, I needed just the right shoes, so I stopped at Famous Footwear on the way out of the mall and got these sandals. And it only took me about three torturous hours! I'd completely missed lunch and barely had the strength to go through a Wendy's drive-through lane to get a 'value' Dr. Pepper and an order of 'value' fries.

50s Day at School

We had '50s Day at school today to coincide with the book fair. Yes, that's me wearing my 9th grade Band sweater (I got a white one my jr. year, but I LOVED this one!), loafers (w/pennies taped on!), Mama's earrings, Dad's h.s. class ring, & my class ring. Oh, and I've got on my old charm bracelet containing one million charms.
Students and teachers in costumes were judged by a panel of sixth graders, and Mrs. M. & I were declared co-winners! Our prize is sending our class to the library for 30 minutes!!! I was hoping for cash or food, but being relieved of students for a half hour will definitely do!

"How To" Books !

Bought these books at school. CUTE ideas. Don't know if I'll ever use any of them, but I've got them anyway!

Cardinal in the Tree

This cardinal was in the backyard before Dad started grilling steaks today.

Recuperating

Scout is recuperating from minor surgery. He had a tooth pulled, his teeth cleaned, a blood test, and a shot. Not to worry though: he's back to his normal grouchy self!

Ign'ernt Ridge Revenge

Dad's company had a chili fest today. They were to name and bring a pot of chili. I named our chili "Ign'ernt Ridge Revenge" after a place near where PaPaw grew up. The first I heard of it was when he mentioned it about a year ago. I think it's the funniest name!

Eric Clapton / Roger Daltrey Concert

Tuesday night we went to the Eric Clapton / Roger Daltrey concert. They were both great! Very good concert.
