What Kind of Flower is This?

These flowers are growing outside our front windows. I don't know what they are, but I'm seeing them in others' yards. What are they???

More Mushrooms / Bigger Mushrooms

Ok, yes, more mushroom pictures. But these are
bigger than the others I posted. The two bigger ones measure 8+ inches in diameter !

A Star in the Garden

I looked out the kitchen window this morning & saw what looked like a star in the garden. Actually it's one of zucchini blooms. Last night I froze about 8 gallons of zucchini and yellow squash!

Free Quart of Paint

Look what I got in the mail free. Glidden gave away free quarts of paint by registering for it online. Now I've got to decide what I'm going to paint 'tropical surf' blue!

'Farewell Season' in Driller Stadium

Tonight Dad, Brett, & I went to watch the Drillers play the Corpus Christi Hooks. Since it was 100 degrees, we sat up high in the shade. Thank goodness there was a strong south breeze. The horse races were going on behind the stadium. Of course, we had to have some souvenir snacks, because we don't have many ice cream helmets or Drillers cups around our house!

Quilt Show

Daddy was kind enough to go with me to a quilt show today. (What else can you do on a 100-degree day in July?) It was his first show and one of the best ones I've been to. They always give you a ballot at the door to vote on your favorites in different categories. He paid close attention to detail, but always knew his 'favorites' the very instant he saw them!
Thanks, Daddy, for going with me.

Couldn't Pass Up These Pictures

As I was driving home from PaPaw's, a train was carrying the propellers to wind turbines. I think it's fascinating how HUGE these are! So.....I grabbed my camera (yes, while driving at 65 mph!) & snapped a couple of pictures. I wasn't sure if they would be clear or not.....................

The Cows Are Out! The Cows Are Out!

When the storms & heavy rains stopped yesterday, I took the back way out of the neighborhood, and these 4 head of cattle were strolling single-file down the middle on the road. Of course, I had to grab my camera!

Scout Says "Happy Birthday, America"

Scout took take time out from his 'busy' morning of begging for treats, chasing the neighbor dogs up & down the fence, & napping, to wish everyone "Happy July 4th!"

Veggie Tales

The zuccini is from our little garden. The vine on the left is growing from a sweet potato started by Sugar for us. I need to get it planted into the ground.
