Well, I've been in Australia since early Monday morning. Sarah has shown me the 'local' sights, like malls, grocery stores, stuff like that. The first two days were nice -- sunny days, very cool nights. But the last two days have been a different story. It's winter here, and right now the weather is awful! It has been a monsoon rain since I woke up yesterday morning at 5:00. There is flooding in some areas. It's definitely curing the drought they've been going through, but I've had enough of it! Very depressing. It has rained all night and has been since I got up at 4:30, yes 4:30, this morning. Sarah says I must've brought it from Oklahoma! The highlights so far have been: seeing the place where the wedding reception will be (it's beautiful!), going to a chocolate place called "Max Brenner" (delicious!), walking around the neighborhood where we're staying, the ladies' game night at church (we left early due to my jet lag!), seeing a movie with Sarah called "Because I Said So" with Diane Keaton in it (it was cute), and eating fish and chips yesterday (they were great!). Last night Sarah and I stayed in and watched DVDs -- "Failure to Launch," "The Family Stone," and "Sweet Home Alabana." I met a lot of nice people at Wednesday night church and the meal before. Can't remember everybody's name but recognize many from Sarah's blog postings. This evening (Friday) we leave for a congregational retreat at Toukley. Everyone seems to be looking forward to it. I've told Sarah to save some of the sightseeing for us when David and Brett get here. My jet lag has improved each day, but I've been getting up earlier every day -- 6:15 Tuesday morning, 5:45 Wednesday, 5:30 Thursday, and 4:30 today! More news another day!!!!!!!!!
